Bryce and Catherine Remkes are the owners/operators of Ringlet Ridge Farm in Brooks, GA. Bryce is an Iraq & Afghanistan veteran, and Catherine is a former marketing analyst and school teacher. Together, they sustainably grow fifty different varieties of flowers, while also running a small homestead, and shuttling their two busy children from event to event.
The journey to full-time flower farm began as newly-weds with a tomato plant in a pot while stationed in Texas. Sixteen years of marriage, six moves, and two children later, they arrived in Brooks. Since then, the small pot expanded to a small backyard garden, and eventually to a 15 acre homestead and 2 acre flower farm.
Regenerative farming means operating a farm in a closed loop system, where our animals feed on plants, turn them into compost, which is in-turn fed back to our fields. We refuse to use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides, and allow nature to run free. There are cheaper, more profitable ways to farm, but we reject that model--always putting the health of our planet ahead of our profits.
The Carbon Underground was founded in 2013 with the goal of creating healthier soil to reduce carbon from the atmosphere and reverse climate change. As a proud recipient of a grant from The Carbon Underground, we're using the principles of regenerative agriculture on a small scale to make a long-lasting impact.
